Pulling Threads

As an artist who works with fibers and textiles, I often find myself focused on creating small-scale details; sewing a row of tiny stitches or folding a corner that needs to be turned or tucked in just the right way. This project presents a provocative challenge in that it offers me an opportunity to subject a part of my artistic process to a drastic shift in scale, converting what are normally thin threads and small bits of fabric into large-scale projections. I am interested in the possible interactions that may happen between the micro-sized subject and the macro-sized Marquee; what happens to our perception when we project these minute gestures of fingers and fibers onto an 80-foot set of screens?
